Other Comments: Food;
Dapnia's, Cyclops and mosquitolarvea. Vegetable (flake)food is a must.
They like light, sun. They show also nice colors in the sun.
They grow 1 cm in 2 months, depending on temperature. The fish need a cooler period in the fall/winter and take to a minimum temp. of 10 degrees celcius. I keep them in the winter at 15 degrees. In the summer I keep them at 24/26 degrees.
Spawning;
In spring when the temp. rises I start to spwan them. I use a bare tank with some mops on the bottom.
Size; 80x40x30. I put in there 1 male and 3 females. Males are very agressive towards other males and females so there need to be some cover for the females.
Off bredingseason I keep males and females seperated in tanks of 80x40x40.
